This landscape was inspired by a trip to Newhaven, which is situated at the mouth of the River Ouse in East Sussex. Newhaven is an important south coast harbour providing cross channel connections to the continent. The harbours are historically industrial and the Ouse is lined with pier and loading platforms, which I find romantic and a great contrast to the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside..
